Survey
Experiences of sexism, misogyny and gender inequalities (SMGI) are pervasive and can manifest in different ways for different people. To explore the breadth of experience, questionnaires provide a way of capturing the voices of
Thousands of young people
across London and tokyo.
Young people aged 11 to 19 will fill out questionnaires either in school settings (London) or in community and home settings (Tokyo) on gendered experiences (such as safety, puberty, academic pressures, childhood experiences) as well as their mental health outcomes (such as anxiety, depression, wellbeing). To further understand how these experiences, both of SMGI and mental health, change with age, we will also track young people aged 11 to 14 longitudinally. This part aims to understand the breadth of sexist experiences, including understanding of variability in how these experiences differ over time and across groups, and uses this information to inform other parts of the project
