kATHeRINE (KATIE) THOMPSON

UCL Research Team

Katie (she/her) co-leads the part of Bridging Divides that uses existing UK-based longitudinal population studies to understand the mechanisms underlying gender gaps in youth mental health. Katie is currently a Research Fellow in Population Mental Health at the UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies. Her work intersects psychology, sociology, epidemiology, statistics, and genetics to enhance the understanding of mental health problems across the life course. Katie has extensive experience in innovative longitudinal methods, and her work is currently focused on using causal inference approaches to estimate how to mitigate social disparities in mental health problems.

Outside of work, she spends her time painting colourful portraits and sampling as many different foods as possible!
